Aussie Pet Health Treats P/L owns one of the largest pet treat drying facilities in Australia, located in Young, NSW. We are an Australian owned and operated facility with great access to Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne.

Aussie Pet Health Treats P/L currently packs private labels, and also supplies our natural dried pet treats to most supermarket chains, in addition to wholesalers and distributors throughout Australia.

Aussie Pet Health Treats P/L manufactures a range of natural, healthy air-dried treats for dogs and cats. Our category of pet treats are commonly known as ‘body parts’ and are derived from edible food-grade meat and bone products derived from Pork, Beef, Lamb and Kangaroo.

HOW IS THE PRODUCT DRIED?

The raw material is prepared and cut to size prior to the drying process. Products are then placed on specialized mobile stainless steel racks, and moved into one of the drying rooms. The computerized jet-dryers are them programmed according to the particular product in the drying room. All products are processed and dried differently due to the variance in moisture content in each particular treat.

All products are subjected to a heat treatment of 68 degrees Celsius for 30 hours which is sufficient to destroy all pathogenic organisms (including salmonella).

The drying process is very important and monitored closely by our trained staff and Quality Assurance team, to ensure that the product does not cook, but dehydrates all the moisture out, making the product healthy and safe for pets.

WHERE IS THE PRODUCT MANUFACTURED?

Our treats are manufactured in our new, modern, export registered plant in Young, NSW. All of our raw material, with the exception of Kangaroo, is sourced from our own Export Registered abattoir, Burrangong Meat Processors P/L.

Burrangong Meat Processes P/L is the largest three species export meat processing plant in Australia. This enables us to guarantee the supply of our own raw materials, and in turn, guarantees the supply of our product to our customers.

Our close working relationship with the abattoir guarantees constant supply and quality of raw material. The abattoir currently processes:-

7,500 Pork a week.
17,500 Lamb a week
1,000 Beef a week.

To indicate material supply volumes, this guarantees a minimum of 15 000 pig ears a week, 60 000 split trotters a week, and 45 000 x 100g bags of dried liver a week.

Due to our major role and connections within the Australian Meat Processing Industry, our ability to source additional raw material, if ever required, is second to none.

Not only does having an abattoir at our disposal ensure the supply of our own raw material, we also have no transport costs to incur on our raw material, providing us with a distinct pricing advantage.

WHAT IS THE DRYING CAPACITY?

With six (6) drying units, we have the ability to dry a large quantity and volume of products. One dryer alone has the capacity to dry over 10 000 pig ears in 30 hours. Drying times differ per product and this is all set and controlled by PLC (Programmable Logic Control) computers.

Due to our technically advanced drying process, all of our products have a shelf life of in excess of 2 years. Therefore all packaged product is stamped with a “Best Before” date of two years post packaging.
